Our camping is situated in the Bocage de Vendée with no less than 285 days of sunshine a year. In the department that ranks 3rd in France on the list of cleanest air.
Only 1 hour and 15 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean
There you’ll find beaches with high waves for adventurers and with more gentle water for smallest guests.
The Vendée also has hills, dozens of kilometers of cycling and hiking trails, picturesque towns and villages and attractions for all ages. Below, you’ll find highlights no more than 90 minutes away.
With an area of more than 8,445 m2 and with 3 million liters of seawater in 200 aquariums, the aquarium is home to more than 12,000 animals from 600 different species.
From jellyfish to sharks, if it lives in the sea, it can be found in the aquarium at La Rochelle.

The area is wonderful to explore by boat. The man-made channels are 16,000 kilometers long in total. And for those who don't like mosquitoes: the many dragonflies ensure a mosquito-free cruise.
Arrange a boat in Arçais or La Garette and sail directly into the most beautiful parts of the Marais Poitevin.

In the entire Vendée there are no less than 228 hiking trails and the region also has one of the largest bicycle networks in France, with 1,800 kilometers of bicycle path.
Ask at the campsite for tips and routes for a beautiful, tough or relaxing walk or bike ride.

Founded in the early 11th century, and the burial place of the Dukes of Aquitaine, Saint-Pierre Abbey of Maillezais is located in the middle of the Poitou Marsh.
The majestic ruins of the abbey church, and the monastic buildings that house dining rooms, kitchens, cellars and salt cellars, are open to you.
Near the abbey is a dock, the starting point for boat trips on the water of the "Green Venice".
In May and June, the abbey of Maillezais, as well as the abbey of Nieul-sur-l'Autise and the priory of Grammont, host a classical music festival.

Vouvant is a beautiful village within cycling distance of the campsite. Vouvant has been recognized by Les Plus Beaux Villages de France as one of the most beautiful villages in France. In summer there are many activities and the village is also known as the village of painters. So: studios, galleries, restaurants and a beautiful church in a medieval atmosphere.

Beaches and coastal towns
The Vendée has 140 kilometers of beautiful beaches. The coastal strip is hardly built on, while there are all kinds of nice villages and seaside resorts to be found. The sea is also varied: from very calm to challenging waves. Below is a brief description of three beaches.
The seaside resort of Les Sables-d'Olonne is located on the "Coast of Light". It is a well-known destination that has many assets.
In addition to a lively promenade full of stores and cafes, Les Sables d'Olonne has a beautiful sandy beach that’s 3 kilometers long.
The village has an important marina and many entertainment and sports activities. In addition, there is a Casino and a thalassotherapy center.

This old port city from the 10th century has been able to preserve a lot from ancient times, making it one of the most picturesque cities on the Atlantic.
The city is connected to the island of Île de Ré by a 2.9 kilometer long toll bridge. This city of 75,000 inhabitants is definitely worth a day trip.

This beach is located just north of Les Sables d'Olonne and is known for its beautiful waves for the intermediate surfer.
So it's a wonderful sea to play in, even without a surfboard.

One of the most beautiful sandy beaches in Europe, in a semi-circular bay, shielded from the wind.
With a long promenade full of stores, ice cream parlors, terraces and restaurants. Sociably busy during the high season.
The sea is fine for swimming. At high tide there is little space on the beach.
